KEYBOARDPLAYER CRAIG FROST JOINED THE BAND PERMANENTLY ON THE ALBUM "WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND" FROM 1973."SHININ'ON"(1974) WITH 3-D GLASSES ON COVER, WAS PROBABLY GRAND FUNKS GREATEST SUCCESS ON THE SWEDISH MARKET."ALL THE GIRLS IN THE WORLD BEWARE" (1974) WAS THE LAST GOLD ALBUM. "SOME KIND OF A WONDERFUL" FROM THIS ALBUM WAS ANOTHER GREAT HIT. ONE OF THE BODYS ON THE SLEEVE BELONGS TO ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER.
SECOND LIVE ALBUM WAS RELEASED IN 1975 ("CAUGHT IN THE ACT")"BORN TO DIE" NEVER WENT GOLD. THE STYLE WAS ONCE AGAIN DIFFERENT FROM EARLIER PRODUCTIONS. THE LAST ALBUM FROM THE "GOLD-ERA" WAS "GOOD SINGIN' GOOD PLAYIN'"(1976). PRODUCED BY FRANK ZAPPA, BUT STILL, DIDN'T SCORE TO THE GOLD LIST. GRAND FUNK BROKE UP THE SAME YEAR.
AFTER THE BREAKUP 1976, MARK FARNER FORMED "MARK FARNER BAND", THE OTHER MEMBERS CONTINUED UNDER THE NAME OF "FLINT". MARK FARNERS RELIGIOUS BELIEF ACCELERATED OVER THE YEARS, WHICH SHOWS IN THE LYRICS OF MANY GRAND FUNK SONGS. IN 1981 GRAND FUNK MADE AN ATTEMPT TO COME BACK INTO BUSINESS WITH "GRAND FUNK LIVES" AND "WHAT´S FUNK", WITHOUT SCORING. NOW THE GROUP IS REUNITED AGAIN AND OUT ON TOUR IN THE USA! THE NEW LIVE ALBUM "BOSNIA" WAS RELEASED IN OCTOBER 1997
